AZ Museum
The «Perfect Age» exhibition is dedicated to the crisis age experience of the contemporary world, and to the conception of that issue in the Russian art of the 20th-21st centuries. It consists of two self-sufficient parts that are displayed in different exhibition spaces – in the education center of the Moscow Museum of Modern Arts and in the AZ Museum.
Both Moscow museums, being so close to each other, are unified not only by the interest to the Russian modern and contemporary art, but also by the desire to collect all materials and art pieces related to this period of art history. Moreover, while displaying the art of that age, the MMoMA and the AZ Museum tend to implement the novels of the modern visual culture. The AZ Museum, which goal is to preserve, explore and display the oeuvre of A. Zverev and other Sixtiers, celebrates its 3rd birthday this year. Always payed attention to innovative methods of exhibiting art, for the first time it participates in the Moscow International Biennale for Young Art.
In the education center of the MMoMA, the main exposition, that delves into the classic topos of the "three ages", exhibits works from the museum collection and also projects of some young artists invited to also take part in the exhibition. Such common socio-psychological subjects as the cult of youth, beauty industry, frustration related to growing up or becoming old, agism will correlate with the aspects of artistic life (early and late styles, "young art" format, mid-career artist).
Three site-specific installations are specially created for the AZ Museum space. The artworks are displayed in surprising, concealed sites: in the inner courtyard, on the rear facade of the museum and in the virtual space of the «augmented reality». In one way or another way related to the Zverev’s art, the works at the exhibition spaces, in collaboration, form utopian image of the mysterious magnificent garden, or a paradise – the place where people loose time age and, their power.
