Anatoly Slepyshev

1932–2016

"HOW TO DETERMINE, WHETHER IT’S A GOOD PAINTING OR NOT? NO WAY. THOUGH, IF YOU’RE INTENDED, THEN YOU MIGHT UNDERSTAND SOMETHING. BUT IF YOU ARE NOT, YOU’LL PASS BY A MILLION OF MASTERPIECES AND SEE NOTHING. OF COURSE, IN CASE SOMEONE DOES NOT TELL YOU ABOUT IT."

Anatoly Slepyshev was a painter, sculptor, who won the gold medal at the Baghdad World Arts Festival in 1989. From 1990 to 1996 he lived and worked in Paris. At this time, in France there were held over 30 solo exhibitions of the artist.

Slepyshev's works are presented in the best world collections — in the Tretyakov Gallery, the Russian Museum, the Pushkin State Museum of Fine Arts, the Museum Ludwig (FRG), the New Gallery — Ludwig Collection (FRG), the Costaki Gallery (Greece), the Zimmerli Museum (USA) and others.
