Nikolai Estis

born 1937

"FIRST OF ALL, PAINTING IS EMOTIONS. IF ONE NEEDS WORDS TO PERCEIVE, THANKS GOD. LET HIM FIND THEM BY HIMSELF. OUR MATERIALS ARE THE COLORS AND EVERYTHING THAT CAN BE EXPRESSED WITH COLOR, PLASTICS AND COMPOSITION."

Nikolai Estis was painter who participated in exhibitions in Moscow, Soviet Union and abroad starting from the early 1960s. His first solo exhibition was held in Moscow in 1966. Since then, more than 70 solo exhibits happened in Russia and worldwide. Nikolay Estis developed his unique artistic language that partly contains the elements of objectification mainly expressed with basic artistic tools: form, line, extra expressivity. The artist’s works are in private collections, at the Tretyalov Gallery, the Pushkin Museum, the New Jerusalem Museum, in museums and private collections in Russia and worldwide.
