Vladimir Yakovlev

1934–1998

Vladimir Yakovlev was a painter. In 1968 the artist's personal exhibition took place in the Moscow Union of Artists (together with Eduard Steinberg). Starting from the 1970s his works are displayed in Switzerland, the United States, Germany, then in England, France, USA and Israel. In 1995 the artist’s personal exhibit was held in the Tretyakov Gallery. In the mid-1970s, after having suffered a grave disease in childhood, he almost completely lost his eyesight. Yakovlev passed years in an insane asylum and then died in an assisted living facility.

The artist’s paintings are stored in numerous Russian and foreign museums, private collections in Russia and abroad.
