Anatoly Brusilovsky

born 1932

"LEARN THE LIFE — IT IS MEAT. THE REST —INCLUDING YOUR ART — IT’S JUST GARNISH AND NOTHING MORE."

"THERE'S NOTHING MORE IMPORTANT AND INTERESTING THAN LIFE ITSELF. THE EASE OF LIFE AMONG DIFFICULTIES IS GIFTED BY A CORRECT UNDERSTANDING OF IT."

Anatoly Brusilovsky is a painter, founder of Russian collage, assemblage and body art. The artist was a member of the unofficial art movement, successfully worked in cinema production, took up book illustration. He was a master of photography, depicting the unique series of portraits of Russian nonconformist artists. From the mid-1960s Anatoly is regularly displayed in Europe and the United States. Currently, the artist lives in Cologne and Moscow.
