"IT SEEMS THAT THE THING IS BEING DEMONSTRATED AS INANIMATE, BUT IT IS OBVIOUSLY CONNECTED WITH OUR PROBLEMS: PSYCHOLOGICAL, MORAL. IT IS A VERY UNEASY NODE. AND THE SIMPLICITY OF THE APPEARANCE OF HIS ARTWORKS IS VERY DECEIVING. ACTUALLY, THESE ARE NOT JUST COPIES OF THE SUBJECTS, BUT DEEP SENSES OF THE WORLD"
Eric Bulatov about Andrei Grositskiy
Andrei Grositskiy's art is directly connected with the Russian nonconformism or with the so called "Other Art". He is one of the leading authors who worked towards conceptualizing the plastic arts. His artworks are named among the number of artists who founded the Russian pop-art movement as his artistic interest was focused on the "metaphysics of the objective world". Grositskiy's works are in the major collections of Russia and the world – in the Pushkin Museum, the Russian State Museum, the State Tretyakov Gallery and others.
By metro
We recommend travelling to Mayakovskaya metro station. The walk to the AZ Museum will take around five minutes. After leaving the station, turn first to the right into the alley, then moving forward, at the first intersection, turn left to 2nd Tverskaya-Yamskaya street. Walk a few meters. AZ Museum will be on your right.
By car
There are paid parking spaces on either side of 2nd Tverskaya-Yamskaya street or in the nearest alleys. Parking is limited, and on weekends and public holidays, the parking lots may be full.
