"PAINTING — IN A CERTAIN SENSE — IS A STRUGGLE AGAINST DEATH AS THE OUTER DARKNESS..."
Igor Voroshilov was an artist, representative of the Russian unofficial art movement. From the mid-1950s he enters the circle of the nonconformist artists. Starting from the 1970s Voroshilov becomes a member of Russian and foreign group exhibitions. The fascination with philosophy had a great impact on the Voroshilov’s artistic language: his works don’t depict a person’s exterior but reflects the inner spiritual states. The artist's approach can be characterized as an extraordinary romantic avant-guard.
The art of Igor Voroshilov is in numerous collections in Russia and worldwide.
