"GENERALLY, I PERCEIVE ART LIKE A GAME. THERE ARE 4 POINTS OF MY CREDO WHICH DEFINE MY ART: 1) REALITY; 2) DOUBT; 3) IRONY; 4) HOPE."
Leonid Lamm was a student of Yakov Chernikhov and one of the brightest artists-actionists. In his art based on the russian avant-guard he developed his own “theory of artistic space”. Lamm was among the pioneers who painted a word and started playing with idealogical symbols. In 1967 with the writer Igor Gelbach, Lamm created his first "happening" around the monument to Mayakovsky, poured with red color assembling the blood. Before the artist emigrated in 1982 he had passes several years in a prison and in a mental hospital. Leonid Lamm became worldwide famous taking part in numerous important International, exhibitions, as well as in the exhibition "Social-art" in New York (1986).
