Nonna Goryunova

A FLY, A BEE AND SO MANY MORE CREATURES SEE THE WORLD UNLIKE ME. THE WORLD IS PARADOXICAL, MULTI-FACETED. WHAT IS IT LIKE IN REALITY? THE WORLD THAT OPENED TO US IS NOT OBVIOUS. VISUALITY AND REALITY ARE NOT THE SAME THING.

Nonna Goryunova is an artist who studied in the Moscow State Stroganov Academy. Being a member of the Moscow Union of Artists, she’s been participating in numerous exhibitions in Moscow, Russia and abroad. Starting from 1968, Nonna works in duet with her husband Francisco Infante. Together the artists create landscape installations based on the idea of a hand-constructed object, artifact. By transforming the nature within certain “systems”, Nonna and Francisco create interactive spaces, further displayed as visual documents – as photographs or other media. Separately from the duet Nonna Goryunova experiments with spatial graphics.
The artist’s works are in collections of the Tretyakov Gallery, the Pushkin Museum, the Russian Museum, the Krokin Gallery and art assemblies abroad.
