Semyon Motolyanets

FOR A LONG TIME I DIDN’T GET TO FIND THE KIND OF ART I LIKE. I AM NOT A TALENTED VISUAL ARTIST WHO CREATES AN IMAGE THAT STIRS UP THE VISION AND SUBCONSCIOUSNESS. I AM MORE INTERESTED IN WORKING WITH CONSCIOUSNESS AND RATIONALITY.

Semyon is an artist working in a wide range of techniques from painting to performance. In his art he combines the Soviet symbolism with the contemporary images and ironic texts, often written upon the image. The artist created the art group “Mylo” (“The Soap”) with Dmitry Petukhov, he also enters the art group “Parazit” since 2008, the “Nepokoryonnye” (“The Unconquered”) art studio since 2013. Semyon Motolyanets is the winner of The Innovation Prize-2009 in the category “The New Generation” (with the “Mylo” art group). The artist also won the Kuryokhin Art Prize.
