IT’S FAIR TO SAY, THAT I WANT TO MAKE A PAINTING FROM A PHOTOGRAPH. BUT, ACTUALLY, MORE SO A SCULPTURE AS IT OBTAINS A FORM, VOLUME AND MASS. IN MY OPINION, SUCH FEATURES COULD BE CONVEYED VIA PHOTO BEST OF ALL. ALSO, I USE A CAMERA IN A SPECIAL WAY, SHOOTING DELIBERATELY WITHOUT EMOTIONS AND SETTING AN UNOBVIOUS COMPOSITION

Sergey Bratkov is an artist, photographer and also one of the classic figures of the contemporary photography. Starting from the 1980-s, the artist takes part in numerous exhibitions in Russia and abroad. In his art, Bratkov focuses on broadening the borders of art genres. He makes up innovative work approaches, experimenting within the range of artistic genres. The artist combines photography with sculpture, integrating photo art in performance and installation.
