Vasily Vlasov

ищет 1953

OUTER SPACE WE ARE ABLE TO SEE IS ONLY A PART OF THE UNIVERSE. IT STORES SO MANY HIDDEN SECRETS, REVEALS SO LITTLE NUMBER OF ANSWERS. ALL QUESTIONS WE ASK ARE FLYING AWAY TO THE ETERNITY. IT’S IMPOSSIBLE TO DISCOVER ALL THAT’S OUT THERE. THE COSMIC MIND IS HIDDEN BEHIND SEVEN SEALS

Vasily Vlasov is a graphic artist and a painter, curator of all-Russian and international exhibitions of the international art union “The Artist’s Book”. Vasily Vlasov designed more than 100 books, including volumes of poetry by Mayakovsky, Chekhov’s stories, children literature and the “Dueling Code of the 19th century”.  After illustrating books, Vlasov started working within the Artist’s Book format as well as many renowned masters (P. Picasso, M. Shagal and others). The artist called this format “a book for eyes” and since 1991 created more than 50 such pieces. Published with different number of copies, those books broadened the frames of what The Artist’s Book had been imagined to be. There’re works among them, inspired by Joseph Brodsky, Osip Mandelshtam, Velimir Khlebnikov and Daniil Kharms. Vasily Vlasov participated in more than 250 exhibitions.

The artist’s works are stored in museums and private collections, including The Pushkin Museum, The Russian Museum, The Ekaterinburg Museum of Fine Arts, The Museum Ludwig in Cologne, The J. Paul Getty Museum in LA.
