AZ Adrenaline. Part VI

Part VI of the online-project "AZ Adrenaline" aquatints with the exhibition "Fairy Tales by H.C. Andersen", created based on the Zverev’s illustrations to four Andersen’s fairy tales — "The Little Mermaid", "The Wild Swans", "The Emperor's New Clothes" and "The Nightingale".

The artist created the series of illustrations in 1961 on request of the famous choreographer and ballet-master Alexander Rumnev. The drawings have been kept for a long time in the Russian State Archive of Literature and Arts and became an unexpected discovery of the AZ Museum.

The images by Anatoly Zverev inspired other modern artists — in the exhibition space the variety of Zverev’s drawing was complemented by the installations by Katya Philippova, Andrey Bartenyev, Tatiana Badanina and Rudolf Serazhetdinov.

The exhibition was accompanied with the music by Igor Stravinsky, Moris Ravel, Iriada Usupova. Also a singer and a musician Eugenia Smolnyaninova specially for the exhibition created a musical composition dedicated to the fairy tale "The Little Mermaid" by H.C. Andersen.

Hundreds of educational programs were held during the exhibition, also concerts and lectures about the book illustration tradition.

The premiere of the 6th episode took place on May 13 at 12:00.
