The Telegram channel "Cinema About You" has chosen one of the most touching films of recent years for the film club — "Philately" by Natalya Nazarova.
In a northern seaside town lives Yana. Despite her unpromising surroundings, she knows how to find pleasure in life's small joys: she is passionate about philately, takes long walks along the shoreline. Yana looks to the future with hope and faith — she lives waiting for the ship on which her father is about to return. One day, a sailor named Pyotr comes into the post office where the girl works — and her life changes. This is a rare film about a dream that gives a person the strength to keep living, even when everyone around them doesn't understand them.
Together with film critics, we will discuss: how to distinguish pride from self-deception, when a person rejects their prescribed status and demands to be perceived differently than circumstances dictate; what is more important — to follow the generally accepted principle of "get what you want" or to accept the path of humility, and where in this choice lies the line between strength and weakness, dignity and escapism.
To participate in the film club, simply purchase a museum ticket. All guests will also have the opportunity to explore the exhibition "Anatoly Zverev. Open Storage" before the screening.
By metro
We recommend travelling to Mayakovskaya metro station. The walk to the AZ Museum will take around five minutes. After leaving the station, turn first to the right into the alley, then moving forward, at the first intersection, turn left to 2nd Tverskaya-Yamskaya street. Walk a few meters. AZ Museum will be on your right.
By car
There are paid parking spaces on either side of 2nd Tverskaya-Yamskaya street or in the nearest alleys. Parking is limited, and on weekends and public holidays, the parking lots may be full.
