We conclude the summer season of the film club together with film critic Larisa Milyukova. "Summer Will End" is a road movie by Yakut directors Vladimir Munkuev and Maxim Arbugaev.

The drama, starring Yura Borisov in the lead role, unfolds against the harsh and picturesque landscapes of Yakutia. A young man named Kesha returns to his settlement after a long absence. His father and younger brother are waiting for him. Kesha is twenty-seven, with a prison sentence behind him. He has returned and wants to live a normal life, but circumstances turn out differently. At the center of the story are two brothers fleeing through the endless Yakut taiga after one of them steals gold.

The film was shot in the Ust-Maysky District, the outskirts of Yakutsk, at a gold mining quarry in the Aldansky District, and in the settlement of Nayba in Bulunsky District on the ocean shore. Director Maxim Arbugaev emphasized that the idea of shooting anywhere but Yakutia never even arose — its nature is unique in its beauty, harshness, and energy, which is felt and conveyed in the film.

Together with film critics, we will discuss: how to live among those who do not accept you and consider you an outsider — both in the settlement and while on the run; whether you can escape from yourself and start a new life if the past won't let go of you; whether the heroes are criminals or victims of circumstance, and what happens to a person when there is nowhere left to run.
