Only in childhood there’s enough time for games. Though so often artists remain children in their souls for the rest of life. They can look at regular things from an unusual angle so it seems sometimes that their paintings born so cheerly, by themselves. That is how Anatoly Zverev was. Joker and experimenter, he did everything in a different way: played with colors and instruments, figured new methods to paint the world around us.

To paint a landscape you can use not only a brush. Sometimes Zverev used a crumpled newspaper instead — and called it "a newspaper painting technique". The print of this "brush" is frankly unpredictable. A crumpled napkin or a chunk of newspaper will help us create a landscape, where clouds and tree crowns appear from touches of an unusual brush.
We’ll try to repeat the artist’s favorite painting theme: pine tries against the skyline.

We will need:

  • A4-sized paper (watercolor or graph paper)
  • Diverse-purpose paper (newspaper, napkin, page from an old magazine or newspaper)
  • Gouache
  • Brushes (big plane one and a middle-sized round one)
  • Pallet (plate)
  • Water

Registration for the lesson is required!
