Dear visitors! Note that the AZ Museum will be closed from April 1 due to the exposition change.
This gift edition presents Zverev's masterful illustrations for Andersen's five fairytales – "The Little Mermaid", "The Wild Swans", "The Emperor's New Clothes", "The Nightingale" and "The Swineherd". The artist created a series of illustrations in 1961 on request of the famous choreographer and ballet-master Alexander Rumnev. The drawings have been kept for a long time in the Russian State Archive of Literature and Arts. According to the leading specialists' expert opinion, these are some of the best drawings ever created based on the artistic world of the great danish storyteller. Zverev's illustrations, having been found in the archives, are published for the first time.
